Project Description
This project leverages openly available summary statistics from genome-wide association studies, to better understand the underlying biological mechanisms of eating disorders (particularly anorexia nervosa) through leveraging existing discoveries in other fields. Specifically, this project will examine the extent of genetic overlap between eating disorders and metabolic markers, as well as between eating disorders and brain morphology. Methods include local and global genetic correlations, conditional/conjunctional false-discovery rate, bivariate mixture models, gene network and cell-type-specific/tissue-specific enrichment analyses. Candidate could rotate as early as Spring quarter 2026.
