The Program considers internships that are synergistic with the Ph.D. dissertation work to be a valuable component of graduate education. Such internships may be arranged after conferring with the thesis advisor and BISB Graduate Program Coordinator. However, students should note that such internships are generally not compatible with grant support or with certain fellowships, awards, or appointments, and may jeopardize current or future funding. Please consult with the BISB Graduate Program Coordinator prior to finalization of the internship offer to discuss this. When the internship is finalized, please notify the coordinator at least one month before the internship starts so that your UCSD payroll may be adjusted.
